Charity No. 1166411
Providing a new source of stimulation can make all the difference. Painting can increase a person’s sense of well-being and self-esteem. Many patients and carers find it absorbing and relaxing.
Patients, carers and staff often spend a happy hour or two in activities such as cards, dominoes, board games or quizzes. We also provide exercise routines and other therapies (e.g. hand massage and nail care).
Otherwise, just sit and chat to new and old friends over a cuppa and a biscuit or sit and read the newspaper and magazines.
Excursions and social activities
A number of excursions and social activities are organised throughout the year for those that are interested - e.g. theatre trips, meals, narrowboat trips, cinema trips, outdoor bowls
We offer bereavement counselling for those who have lost a loved one. This can either be one to one counselling or group therapy. This has been very successful in helping people to come to terms with their loss.
